The Multnomah County Animal Shelter (MCAS) accepted 291 animals in May 2020. The majority of intakes were officer impounded animals, and strays from members of the public. Dogs and cats were the most commonly accepted animals.

The Multnomah County Animal Shelter released 256 animals. The majority of these animals were reclaimed by their owners, or transferred to other agencies. Dogs and cats were the most commonly released animals.
